Autumn Before the Chill

Autumn Before the Chill

 90X120cm

Introduction

When the warmth of summer has not yet fully faded from the veins of the leaves, the golden hues of autumn quietly spread across the canvas. The artist guides the eye with imagery, layering oil paint to carry the weight of light: the maple leaves are the lingering glow of late summer, the tree trunks softened by the warmth of passing time, and the white birds, like stars lifted by light, pause in the fleeting moment between seasons.

He does not depict “decay,” but rather captures “continuity.” Beneath the thick, textured layers, the residual heat of summer hides; the blended golds enfold the gentleness of the wind—allowing viewers, amid the raised and recessed patches of paint, to feel the lingering warmth of life within autumn. Seasons do not break; they transition and grow slowly through color and light.

This painting is a handful of sunlight yet uncooled. Held in the palm, its warmth is not fierce, but enduring and serene—it reminds us that farewell does not equal loss, and that change can preserve light. What seems to have drifted away in summer has, in fact, already settled deep in time, sustaining the temperature of autumn.
